What to expect

Cabins

Four of them.

Air-conditioned, clean, rustic. Each has various bedrooms, one has a sleeping loft, and some have kitchens. There are 8 private rooms with either a queen or king bed. There are 2 rooms with a double bed each that I’ll try to only put single people in. Whether or not you have kids, you can book a private room, first come first served. I may assign rooms to ensure everyone has what they need in terms of space, etc. and I’m aiming to designate one adult-only cabin.

Terrain

Bring shoes with treads.

(Chacos or what-have-you.) There’s a very large hill in between 2 sets of 2 cabins. I’m going to try to plan activities & sleeping arrangements accordingly so we’re not all hauling up and down the hill all day, but expect to hike or drive up and down a few times.

Activities

TBD!

Would loooove some help planning/executing. I’ll add a page with more scheduling details once we get closer to August. There will be some group activities, plus there’s a pool, a lake “across the street” (might have to hike/drive there), and 450 acres to explore. Expect to be outside most of the time!

Cook + Clean

Plan to pitch in!

As usual, I will purchase all the food & ingredients (and drinks) in advance. If you have any food allergies/restrictions or special requests, let me know when you RSVP. Even if you think I already know, just remind me! ;)

I try to divvy up the food & cleanup responsibilities fairly. Usually involves a large sign-up sheet posted in the main kitchen. It has worked pretty well! If you have any ideas to feed a crowd or want to “own” a meal, holler.

Li’l Ones

Bring ‘em!

Babies & kids are absolutely welcome. June & Kit will be there. We’ll do our best to have meals “on time” (8:30am breakfast, 12pm lunch, 6-6:30pm dinner) and I’ll have snacks, but if you have super scheduled/picky littles it might be good to bring a few extra foods for them just in case they start to lose it. (Mine def get hangry!) The closest grocery store is 20 mins away.

The cabins have AC… bring a few options for PJs in case it’s cold/hot in your room.

Lastly, the place lists itself as very kid-friendly, but I would not expect baby-proof. There is a pool, so bring whatever pool gear your kid needs.
